Musing Through Matthew-Pictures About Reeds And Flax
Let us muse again today from Matthew 12:20 and the theme of Jesus the king. In our verse for study today we see the pictures about reeds and flax. There are two pictures to be seen from these two analogies. One of these is the religious pictures from the bruised reed and smoking flax that are not worth throwing away. He leaves them alone in their worthlessness to deal with another day. The other Picture of the reed and flax is that of the Saviour’s view of the old sinner. Our Lord would like to heal him of his bruises and replace the smoke Of religion with the fire of the Holy Ghost erupting in him and on him.
