Musing through Matthew – Gentiles Give Glory
Let us muse again today from Matthew 15: 29 – 31 and the theme of Jesus The King. In our text Jesus in order to escape the crowd goes to the far side of the Galilean Sea. He finds there is no escape in this predominant Gentile region. He went up into a mountain for rest and teaching of His disciples. There came a great multitude of lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and were cast at His feet. The compassionate Christ as He always is, healed them all. The Amazing Truth is that the Gentiles glorified the God of Israel, the Jewish God. The word glorified means to praise, to magnify, to celebrate, to honor, to make renowned or famous, to render illustrious, and to give great worth to. How can we do less when he moves with compassion on our behalf.
