Musing through Matthew – Jesus only [17:7-9]

Let us muse again today from Matthew 17: 7- 9 and the theme of Jesus The King. In our study today we’re struck with a thought of Jesus only. In verse 7 we find the disciples in great fear of the Transfiguration. They have heard the voice of God and they are in great fear until Jesus comes and touches them. The voice from Heaven had cast them down, He touched them and told them to arise. The voice from Heaven made them afraid but His touch told them to be not afraid. Oh I see in verse 8 their sight after His touch was then they saw Jesus only. In this hour may He give us Dove’s eyes which is singular vision and eyes only for Him. In verse 9 they’re told not to tell of this experience. There’s some personal experiences we need not tell simply because to the human flesh of others they are not believable. We can rest assured they didn’t tell it but they never forgot it. It increased their faith every time they thought of it. May we ponder those things He has done for us that are too precious and private to tell.
