Musing through Matthew – The Guardian Of The Little One (Matthew 18:6)

Let us muse again today from Matthew 18:6 and the theme of Jesus The King. Our verse for study teaches us much about Jesus The phrase little ones in our text not only speaks of a little child but little in the faith or immature in the faith. It also could refer to one who is simple minded. Jesus says one who attacks such a little one or lives a life before them that will cause them to stumble into sin lives in a dangerous position. Jesus says for this one who would do this it would be better for him to have a large millstone hug about his neck and cast into the sea. I feel like the better that He speaks of is that it would be better to have the millstone than to face God in the judgment. Let us remember that the lowly Lord is the guardian of the lowly let us not forget Jesus is the judge of whom we shall all one day stand before and give an account of what we have done with our lives.
