Musing Through Matthew How Think Ye ( Matthew 18: 12-14)

Let us muse again today from Matthew 18: 12 – 14 and the theme of Jesus The King. In our text today it begins with a question, how think ye? This is the subject of our study today. In verse 12 we are asked how think ye about the way of the Sinner? The Shepherd brings the lost sheep to the forefront even before the 99 saved and safe at the house. Oh how this should press us to give prominence to the lost and their need of salvation. He was so concerned He made a mountain journey in person to seek this lost lamb. We must give importance to the loss for we ourselves were wandering afar until the shepherd and bishop of our soul brought us safely into the foe.

How think ye of the worship of the Shepherd? The text says of the Shepherd if He finds it and let us be reminded our shepherd has no if He finds it for He never fails when seeking for a lost lamb. We’re told His worship is to rejoice more over the one found than the 99 safe at the house. He has given the lost one He seeks for the chief place in His thoughts that bring Him the greatest joy. How can we do less.

We see in verse 14 how think ye of the witness of the Sovereign? He says here it is the will of the Father that none of these parish. The word will is the word desire or the good pleasure of one. Let us be assured that the sheep He has ordained unto life will be found. ( Acts 13:48) How think ye?
