I Am Resolved

This is the last day of our year. As we look forward to this new year may I leave us to ponder the old song of the faith which says,  “I am  resolved no longer to linger, charmed by the world’s delight; Things that are higher, things that are nobler These have allured my sight.” O Lord let these higher things have the sight of all my affections. The song goes on to say, ” I am resolved to follow the Saviour, Faithful and true each day; Heed what He sayeth do what He willeth He is the living way.” We might ask our self how can we make such a resolve? The answer is in the chorus of the song which says, ” I will hasten to Him, hasten so glad and free; Jesus, greatest, highest, I will come to Thee. May HE be all our resolve in 2009.
