Let us look today at Luke 2:21-22 which says, And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; I had the great honor of dedicating all three of my boys to the Lord it was a special time. I have preached the dedication service of several of my grand children. In the service of our Lord’s dedication four things stand out. There is a calling of His name. I love to give the meaning of the name. His name means He will save His people from their sins. There was also the circumcision. This has a greater thought of the circumcising of the heart.  There is also the confession. His mother and dad presented Jesus before His Father. Let’s  bring our children and grand children to the Lord and give them back to Him. May we look for Him to circumcise and save their hearts. In this story we see the conception. They  knew he was going to be a boy before the womb. How I am amazed that our Lord knew us from beginning to end  even long before our conception.
