Attention To The Witness Of God

We are to begin meeting today in Lake Village, AR. Let us continue to ponder I Thessalonians,  the theme of  which is “While Waiting for the King”. In chapter two and verses 5-11 Paul gives attention to our witness. In verse 5-7 and verse 11 Paul speaks of the approach of our witness. Paul said I didn’t come with flattering words or to see what I could get from you. In verse six he tells I didn’t come to get glory or for you to take care of me. In verse 7 and 11, Paul said I came like a mother who is nursing her child. He came as a father who exhorts and comforts his child. My friend as we wait for the Lord are we sharing our faith? O how weak I am in this area. What is our motives when we do share? May it be for no other reason but His glory. In verse 8 we find the affection of our witness. Paul said I didn’t come to just share  the gospel but my own soul with you, because you  are so dear to me.I find in verse 9 the admonishment to our witness. Paul tells he worked day and night. In other places he tells he laboured making tents. Why did Paul work to make a living? He didn’t want anyone to say he shared the gospel just for money. My, my, let us who preach check our motives today. In verse 10 we find the actions for our witness. Paul said I behaved holy, justly, and unblamealy before you all. As we wait let us so live that no one can point a finger at our life.
