An Admonishment About Our Division

Let us muse today on I Thessalonians 5:10-15. We find here while we wait for the King, an admonishment about division. These verses contain great truths about the control of division. This is so rampant in our churches, homes, and government. No  one can agree on anything. In the words of a great statesman of days gone by, “Can’t we all just get along”. We find one of these truths is live together with Him. This is mentioned in verse 10 and amplified in verse 11 in the words to edify or build up one another. In the words of the old timers “if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all”. When we are with Him, He holds all in unity. We are told another truth in verses 12-13 of, look unto them over you from Him. Paul tells us not to just know about them, but know them personally. We are to encourage and esteem them very highly. What would happen if we were to lift our pastors up instead of tear them down? Paul tells us to lift up those around you in Him. He tells us to comfort the feeble minded. Go along side the simple and lead them. Paul says for us to support the weak and just be patient with all men. Has He not suffered long with us, how can we do less with others. The last truth that stops division is lead out those unruly against Him. There are some you just can’t get along with. You might need to go and tell them to get in unity or get out.
