Spiritual Thoughts

Forgive me for not being faithful to our daily devotional page. I have been in some remote places without internet coverage. Let us muse today from Philippians 4:8 on the subject of spiritual thoughts. If you find yourself shutup in an unwelcomed situation, watch your thoughts. May they be thoughts from above and not below. We are being blasted from every side today with thoughts that do not please our Lord. I noticed in verse 8a we should think thoughts that produce character. Paul tells us to think upon things that are true. Law enforcement in order to know counterfeit money are never allowed to touch it. To expose a crooked stick, always lay a straight one beside it. He says to think upon honest things. The word means fine, venerable, honorable, and serious. Be careful in spelling out intimate details in words that could sway the thinking of another. He tells us to think upon things that are just. The word means righteous or right. Paul, while in prison, could have thought upon the fact that he was innocent and mistreated, but instead he chose to think upon things that build character.
