The Thanksgiving Principle
Let us begin today to muse on the final verses of Philippians 4:10-23. It is here we find the thanksgiving principle. If there is anything that will set us free in an unwelcome situation, it is to give thanks unto the Lord. In verse 10a Paul is thankful for the care of the people. In those days jails did not care for their prisoners. It was up to friends and family if a prisoner was to be cared for. The phrase “now at last”, is believed to mean this last time. It gives the idea they have been helping all along. He breaks out in loud words of praise and rejoicing because of the care of this people for his needs. When I think of the care of God’s people for our needs, time after time it certainly touches off a flurry of rejoicing both in my heart as well as on my lips. THANKS TO ALL WHO DO ANYTHING IN OUR BEHALF. The words thank you seem soooo little for so much.
