Good Ground Seen By Mark

Let us muse from Mark 4:8 today and the Parable of the Sowers good ground. I am amazed beyond thought at how our Lord leads each gospel writer to add a piece of the puzzle to the greater sower  truth. In verse 8 I find the good ground did yield fruit even the increase of 30, 60, and 100 fold. I am interested in the words ‘yield’ and ‘increase’. The word yield means to give or bring forth. This seed on good ground will give a yield. It is not a possibility but it is sure. There will be a yield. The good ground will always give an increase of fruit. The word increase means to grow up with enlargement. This gives an all new depth of meaning to Jesus’ words in Matthew 7 when He says, ‘Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.’ You cannot be a seed sown on good ground and have no fruit of spiritual Christ likeness in your life. You will never see the kingdom of Heaven if you have a salvation that produces no fruit in your life. It is a mere profession of religion and means nothing in the eternal world.
