The Church At Philadelphia

Let us begin today to muse from Revelation 3:7 and the church at Philadelphia. This church was not located on a sea coast but inland. It had a majority of Jewish population which opened the door for great persecution to  those who embraced Christ as the Messiah. Our Lord identifies himself to this church in verse 7. He says that He is the one who is holy and true. These are references that are used to describe only Christ, the true Messiah. He says He has the key of David. He lets those into the kingdom that He sees fit and shuts out the rest. Before our churches get carried away in choosing the best program for the explosion of growth and evangelism we had better find out who He is. He has the key and lets in only those He sees fit. We best preach the old gospel and let Him do the opening and shutting work because there is only one key and He has it.
