Security WithinThe True Church

Let us muse today from Revelation 3:12-13 and the church at Philadelphia. There has been much said over the years about the visible church and the invisible church. Many believe there is only one church and that is the local body of believers. I contend there is a church within the church. That group is the called out ones,  the elect, and born from above blood washed children of God. In speaking to the membership at Philadelphia He says “, I will make great promises of security. The word overcome means to persevere to the end. We know we cannot persevere unless Christ perseveres through us“to him that overcometh”. For Him to say this to a select group in this church tells me their was a church within the church. The promise to them is to become a pillar in the temple of God. That my friend is a fixed position. They are promised the fact that they will never go out, and He will write His name and the name of the city on them. This certainly denotes ownership. He closes by saying to this select group in the church, if you have an ear for this, hear what the Spirit says unto you. I’m glad to not just be a member of an earthly church, but the eternal church, which is the body of Christ.
