Jacob’s Suffering

Let us muse today from Genesis, Chapters 32 and 35, and ‘Jacob’s Suffering In His Possession’. Things can often bring suffering. In 30:22-25 I find ‘Suffering In Our Barrenness’. Rachel, Jacob’s favorite wife is barren. The only thing that can satisfy our barren days is when our Joseph comes on the scene. In 35:14-18 I find ‘Suffering In Our Bereavement’. Rachel dies giving birth to their second child Benjamin. When we are at our lowest He will be at His best. He turns Jacob to look to the Son of His Right Hand, the meaning of Benjamin’s name. We often don’t have hands for what He wants to give because they are full of what we call ‘mine‘.
