Encounter With Truth

Let us begin today to muse from James 1:22-25 and our Encounter With Truth on the road to God’s Blessings. Our relationship with truth and our Bibles is so important if we are to know the blessings of God. Let us begin today to look at the warning about a Casual Observation of the Word of God. In verse 22 we find some ‘attend’ to the Word but are not ‘affected’ by the Word. The verse says ‘Be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only’. The word ‘only’ means merely, casually, haphazardly, and without cautious attention. Oh how often we come to Church or read our Bibles in casual attendance and are little affected thereby. Let us purpose to come to the Word with a longing and a panting heart ‘as the deer pants after the water brook’.
