The Working Of Complete Obedience

Let us muse again today from James 1:25 and our Encounter With Truth on the road to God’s Blessings. We have looked at the ‘Warning Of A casual Observation Of The Word’. Let us begin today to look at the ‘Working Of Complete Obedience Through The Word‘. Look with me in verse 25 at the phrase ‘perfect law of liberty’. The two words ‘law’ and ‘liberty’ are diametrically opposed unless there is the ‘look of discernment’. To live under the law is to build my life on a system of religious rules and not the Word of God. Romans says, ‘When the law entered, sin abounded.’ It also says ‘Christ hath made me free from the law, by the law of Christ’. To have a proper balance between law and liberty is to spend much time in the pure Word of God. This time spent will begin to produce a great love for Christ likeness. Augustine said of rules and standards, ‘Love God with all your heart and then do as you please.’ When our love for Him reaches this level our doings will certainly please Christ.
