Acceptable Religion

Let us muse today from James 1:27 and a proper Encounter with our Testimony on the road to God’s Blessings. This Encounter will involve the need of an Acceptable Religion. James calls it ‘pure religion’. This indicates that it is not only real but a generous religion. In order to understand Christlike religion let us look for a few days at Counterfeit Religion. In 1:26 we find that Counterfeit Religion lacks reality. The phrase, ‘seems religious’ means to appear in outward form only. This is the only time the phrase is used in the Bible. The phrase indicates that one has a form of God but no power of Him behind it. They have no eternal effect. They are empty of true heart. They possess no intimacy with God. They know all about God but they don’t know Him. It is mechanical and not real. It is busy but barren of eternal worth. Only you know if you have but a form or the real thing.
