Forgiveness Effected

Let us muse today from Luke 7:37-42 and the subject of Forgiveness Effected. I noticed in the text there is a ‘Effective Picture’. In verses 37-39 we have a sinner woman who comes with an alabaster box worth a years wages and anoints His body. He who is forgiven much gives and loves much. In verses 41-42 He speaks of two creditors who were forgiven their debt. One was forgiven a small amount and the other a large sum. He then asked, ‘who will love me more?’ The appropriate answer would be the one to whom much has been forgiven. Oh, how we testify of His great forgiveness yet our love stays the same and often waxes cold.
