The Demands Of Forgiveness
Let us muse today and for several days from Luke 23:34 and the demands of forgiveness. It was not easy for our Lord to forgive you and I. All of the demands were placed upon Him at Calvary. One of the three prayers prayed from the cross is found in our text. Father, forgive them for they know not what they do. The Father ordained this death as the means to bring forgiveness to us. They did not search all over heaven foe one willing to go, but He was a lamb slain before the foundation of the world. The nails did not hold Him, but His divine will to forgive held Him to that cross. He was crowned with thorns that I might be crowned with royalty. I shall forever lift mine eyes to Calvary for it was there He looked beyond my sin and saw my need. Looking to the cross we will see the embodiment of forgiveness.
