The Declarations Of Forgiveness

Let us begin today to look at three Declarations From Matthew’s Gospel on The Doctrine Of Forgiveness. In Matthew 6:12 I find a Connecting Declaration. This is a simple statement, but simply profound. The statement is ‘And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.’ There is also here a Connecting Pattern. The key word in this verse is small but big in its meaning. It is the word ‘as’. It connects two like phrases. You cannot have His forgiveness unless you are willing to forgive others. This is God’s standard of forgiveness. God will not forgive you unless you are willing to forgive others.
