A Connecting Pronoucement

In doing this study on forgiveness I ran across five great quotes that speak much of forgiveness. Charles Haddon Spurgeon said, “If you pray Matthew 6:12 with an unforgiving spirit you have literally signed your death warrant.” When John Wesley met General Oglethorpe he said to Wesley, “I never forgive anybody.” Wesley said to him, “Sir, I hope you never sin.” A man once told his Pastor after a bitter divorce, “I will never forgive her or forget it.” The Pastor said, “Dear sir, she is living rent free in your mind.” Oh, how those we don’t forgive control us. Another of these quotes is, “There must be horizontal forgiveness of others before there is vertical forgiveness with Him.” The last quote is “When is the last time you said to Him or others ‘I am sooooooo sorry for that’.” (And name the sin for which you seek forgiveness.
