Address And Admonition From Colossians

Let us muse today from Colossians 1:2 and the address and admonition to the church at Colossae. We find the letter is address to the saints and brethren at Colossae. The word saints means holy, set apart ones. In Paul’s writings we are not called saints, but we are called to be saints. God desires for us to be who we are. We are saints, but we must prove it through our life style. It is address to the brethren. This word speaks of those born of the same spiritual womb. We as  God’s people are not born of the same mother, but of the same heavenly Father. The term grace is address to Gentile believers and this word speaks of the undeserved favour of God. Peace is a Jewish address and speaks of things being well, good or whole. These admonition of grace and peace are from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. To put these two titles in the same sentence means you believe they are both equal and the same. My, how much truth Paul gives in the “Dear” part of his letter.
