The Target Of Paul’s Prayer
Let us muse today from Colossians 1:4-5 and the target of Paul’s prayer. If you remember from yesterday it is a prayer of thanks that Paul prays for the church at Colossae. I want to begin today to look at what Paul targeted in this prayer of thanks to our God. In verse four he gave thanks for their faith. The word faith means ones creed of conviction that causes them to relie wholly on Christ and maintain a profession of constancy. I thought it interesting Paul has not yet visited Colossae, but he has heard of their faith. The word heard means to be noised about, reported with understanding that causes it to come into the ears of others. I was wondering any one heard of our faith lately and the hearing of it cause them to erupt into a prayer of thanks unto our God?
