The Word Of Truth

Let us muse from Colossians 1:5b-6 and the word of truth. Is it not amazing that as soon as Paul ends his prayer he brings up the word of God,the truth.The Psalmist said that God has magnified the word above His own name. No wonder Paul gives it such an important place in his letter. Let me point out 2 or 3 words that Paul uses to describe the word of God. In 5b and 6 he calls it the truth. The word truth means the profession of what one believes. The Bible is an account of God’s beliefs. It is also refered to as the gospel of truth. This is God’s beliefs of what is good news. It is also called the grace of truth. Grace is God giving as what we do not deserve. The Bible is a book of what God sees to be the good news of God giving us what we do not deserve. How I thank him for giving me this book as well as an appetite to study it.
