Thanks For Moving Us
Let us muse today from Colossians 1:13 where we find Paul giving thanks to God For Moving Us. The word ‘delivered’ means to rescue or remove. Paul tells us that Christ has removed us from the power of darkness. The Gnostic writers of that day wrote of the powers of darkness. They believed it was an organized area where evil spirits, angels, archangels, principalities, and dominions ruled. Paul did not deny this belief but told us that God had removed us from this realm. Paul said that He translated us from here to the kingdom of His dear Son. The word ‘translated‘ means to be deported from one place and made a citizen of another. Dear son is also translated, ‘Son of my love’. It is the title used at the baptism when the Father says, ‘This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased’. What a blessing to know that ‘Greater is He that is in us, then He that is in the world.’ Our faith in Him is the faith that moves us from darkness, makes us more than conquerors, and causes us to overcome the world.
