The First Born Of All

Let us muse again today from Colossians 1:15b and one of the five titles given to Christ in this context. Here we find that He is called ‘The First Born Of Every Creature’. The word ‘first-born’ does not refer to a time or place in birth because Christ was not a created being. It refers to a place of status and rank. The phrase ‘of every creature’ carries the idea of before all creation. This title gives Him the place of superiority and the only one of His kind. He is called ‘The First Born From The Dead’. It is the only resurrection of its kind. All who were raised, died again later, but He ever liveth for He is the first born, the only begotten, and the only on of His kind.
