Let us muse again today from Colossians 1:18a and at another of the titles for Christ. He is here called ‘The Head Of The Body, The Church’. The phrase ‘He is’ is in the continual present tense. This is an undying fact. The word ‘head’ is the word for the inspiring, deciding, controlling, and sustaining power of God. The body or the Church is a group of chosen, blood washed, born from above people. There is a group within every church that fits this description. We find our all as a human body does in our head. If one has been in an accident and they are unconscious there will be a brain wave text. On occasions they will say that they are brain-dead or a vegatative state. This means that the head is no longer telling the body what to do. We, the people of God, have one head who is Jesus Christ our head forever. The church has been likened unto a building with Christ as her foundation. The church is like a bride with Christ as her groom. The church is a living, spiritual organism drawing all of her vitality from the head with whom she is ever linked.
