A Determined Perseverance

Let us muse today from Colossians 1:23c and the phrase ‘be not moved away’. It is in this phrase that I find a Determined Perseverance. The phrase can also be rendered in our today terms as not being continually shifted away. We are such a changing people and not easily satisfied. We exhibit many qualities of being discontent. It will be hard to persevere if we cannot say with the Hebrew writer, ‘Looking unto Jesus’. We must keep our eyes upon Him. If God has put it in your heart to do something for Him you will not reach the goal unless you keep your eyes upon Him. David said it best when he said, ‘My heart is fixed on thee O God, and my trust is in Thee’. Let us look back to the likes of Adoniram Judson who endured the suffering of Burma to accomplish a great work for God. Let us be numbered with those who had and now have a determined purpose of perseverance.
