Poverty Of Scripture Input
Let us muse today from Colossians 3: 16a and the poverty of Scripture input. Paul speaks of the word of Christ dwelling in us richly. The phrase word of Christ tells us that the Bible from cover to cover is the Words of Christ. The word dwell means to feel at home in. The word richly means abundantly, fully, and overflowing. In a recent survey we are told that most Bible believers spend an average of three minutes a day in the Bible. It is impossible to fulfill this verse only spending this much time in the Bible. We have minimize the need for the word in our lives and replaced it with work and pleasure. It is minimized at the church house and replaced with more singing, movies, performances, plays, and other entertainment. We are now the poorest people spiritually in the world.
