The Family

Thanks for all your prayers during my brother’s death. Please continue to pray for his family. Let us begin today to muse from Colossians 3:18-4:1 and what Paul has to say about the family. In a comparison passage in Ephesians Paul gives the practical application if we are to have a Christian home we must be filled with the Spirit. In our text Paul prefaces this family section with the thought that we need to have the Word of God dwell in us richly. The home is under great attack with the passing of the no-fault divorce. Fifty percent of all marriages end in divorce. No one takes into account the vows of till death do us part taken before God. I have never known a family that ended in divorce where one or both parties were filled with the Spirit of God and the Word of God.
