Paul The Fettered Man

Let us muse today from our last musing from Colossians. If you have read all or most of the Colossians musings give me an e-mail shout out. The final one gives us Paul’s signature in Colossians 4:18 and tells us Paul was a fettered man. Paul was not writing from a high place but a lowly prison where he was in the bonds of fettered chains. He has mentioned in this book the bonds of philosophy, religious rituals, and binding legalism that binds some in Colossae. Paul says, he would rather have his bonds than to have theirs. The reason for Paul’s desire for his bonds was that they were accompany with grace. It matters not where we find our self if we are favored with the grace of Christ’s present, it is a good place to be.
