Probation Period

Let us in muse today from Hosea 3:3 and the theme of a probation period. After Hosea buys Gomer off the slave market there is a time of probation and for her to prove herself. It would be wonderful if the church would make people prove themselves before they quickly let them be baptized and join the church. She was to abide with him for many days. The word abide means to sit still, to dwell in quiet, and to be at home in. It reminds me of the thought be still and know that thou art God.
