Court Spectators

Let us muse from Hosea 4:15-19 today and the court spectators. We are left to look in on this court session from yesterday. He speaks in verse 15 on a place called Beth Haven. It is a play on the word Bethel which means house of God. The word Beth Haven means house of evil. will. The house of God has turned into a house of evil. He compares Israel as well as us to a stubborn heifer and not a submissive lamb. This is surely the state we find ourselves in today. We often do not find ourselves just being a submissive lamb that opens not our mouth, but we must stubbornly make our point. Hosea tells us in verse 19 because of our stubbornness God will send the whirl wind that will leave us in great shame. Let us remember the sin of stubbornness is worse than the sin of witchcraft.
