A Present Promise
Let us muse again today from Hosea 6:1-3 and a present promise. There is no better word of admonition but that found in verse one from the words come, and let us return unto the Lord. Let us as God’s people always be moving in His direction. In verse three we are reminded that we can enter into a greater and deeper knowledge if we follow or press towards the Lord and to know Him more intimately. He speaks in verse 3b that if we press to know Him we will experience the latter and former rain. This is that rain that causes the crops and vegetation to break forth from the ground. The rain in the Bible is a portrait of the Holy Ghost. My what a promise, that when we come to know Him and press for more intimate knowledge of Him, we shall experience the drenching presence of the Holy Ghost.
