A Proclamation at His Coming

One might ask what will determine His coming? Is there any thing left to happen before He comes? The verse we ponder today may answer those questions. Matthew 24:14 says, And the gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. What is to be proclaimed? Jesus said the gospel must be preached. The gospel is His death, burial and resurrection. Where is it to be preached? Jesus said it must be preached to all the nations. Our Lord will not come until the last one has heard the gospel. Why must the gospel be preached? Jesus said, it must be preached as a witness. Our Lord wants all to be without excuse. You might ask what then? Jesus said and then the end shall come. It may be a day like today when the last one will hear the good news and our Lord will say to His church come up here.
