I Stand Amazed

Let us muse today from Hosea 11:1-2 and the door to a section I will call I stand amazed. It is in chapters 11-14 God shows through Hosea and Gomer His love for the redeemed people of God. The Lord begins by sharing with them the mercies of the past. In 11:1 God sent Joseph down to Egypt so that he could use this on a later occasion to save His own from people from their bondage. Their response to God’s deliverance in 11:2 is that they worshiped Baalim. Those who fail to remember the past are condemned to relive it. Lord, let us learn from our past sins and refuse to repeat them. One has said, the only thing we don’t learn from history is that we don’t learn from history. What in your or my history do we keep having to learn over again?
