Long-suffering Love

Let us muse again from Hosea 11:5-7 in the section I have entitled I stand amazed. It is in these verses we find the display of God’s long-suffering love. In verse seven God says of His people they have a bent to backsliding. Oh, how we are prone to wander, prone to leave the God we love. The only time Israel called on God was when they were in trouble and needed help. What did He do? He would come to their aid and help them. Oh, how many times we only pray because there is trouble. There will be a point for us as it was with Israel when the long-suffering patience of God’s love will no longer be long and there will be none but suffering.
