Discipline For The Present

Let us continue to muse from Hosea 12:1-2 and a section I have entitled I stand amazed. It is here we see God has a discipline of the present time upon His people. We see in verses 1-2 the need for discipline. We are told in verse one that they are feeding on the wind. The wind speaks of vanity or that which brings no nourishment. Because they can find no satisfaction for their hunger they make a covenant with the Assyrian people. God says I have a controversy with you. The Bible says, whom the Lord loves he chasten and scourges every son whom He receives. Let us beware if we are in sin and God leaves us alone, we may not be one of his children.
