Types Of Discipline

Let us muse today from Hosea 13:7-16 and the types of discipline. Because of Israel’s sin God showed several metaphors to describe the type of discipline He would use to correct this wayward nation. In verse 7-8 the Lord says He will come as a lion, leopard, and a bear robbed of her babies. These are all ferocious animals and especially a mother who has been robbed of her babies. I cannot imagine our Lord coming up on the USA in such a fashion. These metaphors should help us to stand clear of the least of sin. In verse 13 He mentions  the metaphor of a travailing mother in child-birth. This picture is the worst of pain. God tells this nation because of their sin He will bring the hardest of pain. Let us beware of sin for surely we will reap the whirl wind of all the sins we sow in our life.
