Warning To The Drunkards

Let us muse today from Joel 1:5-6 where in this present day of the Lord Joel sends a warning to the drunkards. In a country where the Jews found the staple products for life were bread and wine it would be extremely difficult if these were cut off. The water was bad so often they had nothing but wine to drink. Many had given themselves over to the extreme and had become drunkards. In verse six we are told that the land has been ravish by the locust and there will be no new wine for the next year. I wonder if those who take the spiritual  liberty to socially drink should be careful. Alcohol is a strange substance, it is like a poisonous snake and it often bites without warning. I have never known of one who was a T totaler who became a drunkard.
