A Warning To The Farmers
Let us muse today from Joel 1: 7-12 and the present day of the Lord when Joel issues a warning to the farmers. Joel tells the farmer what the locus had destroyed in verses 7-12. They laid waste the grape-vine, the corn is gone, no wine is in the house, no wheat or barley, and the fig and pomegranate trees are all gone. In verse nine the Lord says you can’t even bring Me the sacrifice to mourn for your sins. The Lord tells them to put on sackcloth which was the attire of repentance and act like a Virgin whose husband had died on the day they were to be married. O what brokenness our sin must demand before God will forgive. Just saying I’m sorry may not get it.
