A Purposeful Day

Let us begin today to muse from  Joel 2: 1-27 in what I’m calling from our theme the day of the Lord, a purposeful day. God has purposed in His will to bring the nation of Israel to Himself. It is in this chapter the locus would be the Assyrian army that invaded the nation during the days of King Hezekiah. The Lord would purpose for the Assyrian army to ravage the land beyond belief, but would finally deliver the nation of Israel through a miraculous intervention. God sent an angel and a hundred and 85,000 men died in one night. My, what a God we serve. It makes me want to purpose to draw nigh to Him.
