Vengeance On Gaza

Let us in the muse today from Amos 1:6-8 and a section I have entitled God’s vengeance. It is here God deals with three of Israel arch enemies. In verses six God deals with Gaza. Gaza is the principal city of  Philistia. Amos mentions three other prominent town Ashdod, Askelon, and Ekron. Remember from the Bible that Philistia has been an enemy of God’s people pre Goliath day. The phrase for three transgressions and for four once again is mentioned. Gaza  and the Philistine nation has crossed God’s mercy line. In 2 Chronicles 21 we are told the Philistines ravished a city and sold its people to the Edomites and because of it God issues a decimation decree on the Philistine population. To mess with God’s people  Israel are the redeemed is a very dangerous thing.
