Vengeance On Blood Kin

Let us begin today to muse from Amos 1: 11-2:3 and a section I will entitled vengeance on blood kin. It is in this section that God brings His wrath down on  three groups of people who have a genetic connection to Israel. The one we will look at today is in 1:11-12 and it is the people of Edom. The Edomites were the descendents of Esau, Jacobs twin brother. Down through Old Testament history they had been a protected people. Most of the time when Israel would fight with them it would be a defensive  war. In verse 11 Edam crosses God’s mercy line and He sent the wrath of God upon them. There great sin was the pursuing of their brother the Jews with a sword. God sent the Assyrian and Babylonian nations and leveled this Edomite people. Man has not learned God’s feelings of don’t mess with Israel.
