God’s Call
Let us go back and muse again today from Amos 3:1-2 where I see Amos begins to tell us of four of God’s calls. In verse 1-2 I see that God calls Israel. I see from 3:1 that there is a call which is an edifying call. He reminds Israel of their deliverance from Egypt. This was the beginning days when God says in Deuteronomy that they were His chosen people, a special treasure above all. God said I set my love upon you not because you were more in number, but because you were the least people. The principle of God’s choosing applies also to the church. Jesus said in John 15 you did not choose me, but I have chosen you. I cannot imagine why God would choose me. I was always a fat boy and only time I got chosen was when I heard them say we will take Gilliam if you give us first bat. I blessed the day when I realized He chose me and knew full well I would be of little worth to Him in the spiritual batting department.
