Sin Of Obstinacy

Let us muse today from Amos 4:6-13 and sins we overlook. The sin I desire to look at today is obstinacy.  The word means stubborn and stiff neck. On five different occasions the Lord says, you have not yet returned to me.(4:6, 8, 9, 10, and 11) This phrase was used after harsh judgment from the Lord. In 4:6a because their teeth were clean and they had nothing to eat. He sent drought in 4:7-8 sovereign to different parts of the area. In 4:9 God destroyed the crops. In the 4:10a He sent sickness of which he promised not to send if they only obey. In 4:10b  God sent defeat in war. In 4:11 God sent catastrophe yet they return not to the Lord. In 4:12-13 there was the ultimate judgment when God said O Israel prepared to meet your God. I wonder how far we as a stubborn and stiff neck people are from meeting our God face-to-face in judgment.
