Three Reasons To Seek The Lord

Let us in muse today from Amos 5:5-6 and three reasons he gives for why we should seek the Lord. The first is mentioned in 5:4 and it is there is no other way to have life. Our Lord says seek me in order to have life the way of darkness is death. The second reason is in 5:5 it is there is no other way to  have  spiritual blessings than to seek the Lord. They went to the shrines up north in droves but were none the better. One has said, a change in geography never overcomes a flaw in character. Oh how our nation thinks we can educate morals into people, but we better seek the Lord. The third reason was because judgment was coming mentioned in 5:6. The holy place was destroyed, Gilgal’s people went into captivity, their shrine was destroyed, and Bethel the house of God became Beth Aven  the house of nothing. All of this because they did not seek the Lord.
