Antidote To Being Simple

Let us muse today from Amos 5:21-24 and the antidote for being simple. We noticed on yesterday Amos gave a woe of warning  to the simple who just without thought wished for the day of the Lord. In our text he gives the antidotes to help us with our simple thoughtless spirit. One is found in verses 21-24  when he tells us to look around. We find in this verse God is fed up with our shallow worship and self-centered ways. In 5:25-27 Amos tells us before we desire the day of the Lord let us look back. He tells them of their previous sins  and His judgement on these sins. Let me add a third antidote to the simple warning and that is  look up. B.B. Caldwell said his position on the second coming that he was a looker. The writer of Hebrews said that he will appear again the second time unto those who are looking for Him. It seems from the text that this is the only ones He is coming for.
