Anticipated Proclamation

Let us muse on I Thess 1:5 today. Remember the theme of this book is ” While Waiting For The King”. We find in verse five an anticipated proclamation. Paul gives as a word only proclamation in the words that “his gospel came not in word only”. Much preaching today is just the letter of the law and will kill all it touches. Paul tells us of a wondrous omnipotent power. If the preaching of the word is to touch people it must, Paul says  have the Holy Ghost power on it. All is vain unless the Spirit of the Holy One come down. In these last days our sharing of the word in any form must have His touch. There is also a weighty overwhelming promise. The words in much assurance tells a proclamtion with His touch will not return without bearing fruit. May our  cry be,” breathe on me breathe on me O Holy Spirit breathe on me”.
